The science
Your brain has forgotten how to sleep
Stress, screen time, a mind that won’t stop. Your brain loses its natural sleep rhythm. You may fall asleep, but your brain might not reach the deep stages your body needs to recover.
You feel the consequences during the day: less focus, less energy, less resilience. Not because you sleep too few hours. But because the quality of those hours falls short.
The SleepEngine™ POD restores that pattern. Neuroacoustic sound waves guide your brain, stage by stage, back to the sleep it was designed for. No pills. No wearables. Less fretting about your sleep score.

Who it’s for
A universal pattern. A personal problem.
Every one of us moves through the same five stages of sleep every night — it’s fundamental to how we’re built. The pattern doesn’t change, but the balance between stages does, and that’s often where sleep starts to fall apart.
SleepEngine™ POD is designed to guide your brain back to that natural pattern. That’s why it can help such diverse groups:
Poor sleepers
94% of trialists experience significantly better sleep. An average of 155 extra minutes per night.
Good sleepers
SleepEngine™ technology has been proven to measurably improve sleep quality even for those who already rate their sleep as 'good'.
Athletes and gamers
Professional esports players tested SleepEngine™ technology for 60 days. Results showed 28% more REM sleep and 31% less time spent awake, confirmed by both sleep tracking data and the players' own assessments.
Ongoing research
Cambridge Sleep Sciences is researching how brain activity changes under various physiological and neurological conditions. These insights are being translated into specific programmes in the app. No subscriptions, no monthly fees — everything you need to help restore natural sleep is in the box.

The story
15 years of neuroscience.
One compact device.
In 2011, in Cambridge, England, an inventor began researching how sound could influence brain activity — initially to improve learning states. What he discovered was remarkable: the brain is highly receptive to being guided by precisely tuned soundwaves. He applied that insight to sleep, and SleepEngine™ technology was born.
That discovery grew into Cambridge Sleep Sciences. A team of doctors, researchers and audio engineers invested years of clinical studies and R&D to refine the approach. They found that precisely timed and tuned neuroacoustic soundwaves can help guide the brain back to a natural sleep pattern.
The technology has been patented worldwide. Thousands of devices have been sold. And now that same technology is inside SleepEngine™ POD.

How it works
Nothing near your head but sound.
The SleepEngine™ POD is deliberately designed in two parts: a flat pillow pad with only a passive speaker near your head, and all active technology safely at a distance. No battery in your bed. No radiation near your head.
1. Place the pad behind or under your pillow
A flat, soft pad, no bigger than a book, containing a passive speaker. No electronics, no battery. You won’t feel it, you won’t notice it.
2. The puck sits on the floor
All technology is housed in the puck, a compact round unit on the floor beside your bed, plugged into a wall outlet. Out of sight, out of your sleep zone.
3. Open the app, press play, sleep
Choose your programme, press play, put your phone down. The SleepEngine™ POD runs independently all night long.

SleepEngine™ technology has been validated through multiple independent clinical trials. In the most recent, presented at World Sleep Congress 2025, all participants reported improved sleep, with results remaining statistically significant even after an 8-week washout period. An earlier trial found 92% of participants reporting better sleep. Individual results may vary. More at cambridgesleepsciences.com

Frequently asked questions
Questions?
How do I use it?
The SleepEngine™ POD consists of two parts. A flat, soft pillow pad containing a passive speaker. You place it behind or under your pillow. Via a cable it connects to the puck: a compact round unit that houses all the active technology. The puck sits on the floor beside your bed, plugged into a wall outlet. Through the app you choose your sleep programme, press play, and put your phone down.
Why does it have cables?
By design. The pillow pad near your head contains only a passive speaker: no battery, no chips, no transmitter. All the technology is in the puck, safely at a distance. That means no battery in your bed, no radiation near your head. The cables aren’t a limitation. They’re the entire point.
How quickly will I notice a difference?
Some people notice it after a few nights. We recommend a minimum of 30 days. Your brain needs time to relearn its natural sleep pattern. Clinical research shows that the effects persist, even after you stop using it.
Do I need to wear anything while sleeping?
No. The pillow pad sits behind or under your pillow. You won’t feel it and you won’t notice it. You don’t wear anything, take anything, or change anything.
Does it work if I already sleep well?
Yes. Professional esports players who were already assessed as good sleepers trialled SleepEngine™ technology for 60 days. They recorded 28% more REM sleep and 31% less time awake, confirmed by both sleep tracking data and the players' own assessments.
How is this different from white noise or a sleep tracker?
White noise masks ambient sound. A sleep tracker measures your sleep but doesn’t act on it. The SleepEngine™ POD doesn’t measure. It trains. Patented neuroacoustic technology actively guides your brain through all five sleep stages.
Can I hear the sound?
Barely. The SleepEngine™ POD operates at a very low volume, often right at the edge of conscious perception. The technology also works for people with hearing difficulties. The effect comes partly through vibrations, not just sound.
Can I take it on trips?
Yes. Everything fits in the included carry case. Works anywhere there’s a power outlet.
What programmes are available?
Cambridge Sleep Sciences is researching how brain activity changes under various physiological and neurological conditions. These insights are being translated into specific programmes in the app. Anyone who owns a SleepEngine™ POD receives all future updates at no cost.
Is it scientifically proven?
SleepEngine™ technology has been validated through multiple independent clinical trials. In the most recent, presented at World Sleep Congress 2025, all participants reported improved sleep, with results remaining statistically significant even after an 8-week washout period. An earlier trial found 92% of participants reporting better sleep. More at Cambridge Sleep Sciences →
